Senior Python Engineer

The job:
  • Optimize and automate processing using microservices and brokers architecture in GCP (Google Cloud Platform)
  • Work with developers, payment specialists, business & data analysts, and product owners in charge of building everything directly or indirectly related to payments (from end customers to clients, preventing fraudulent behavior, and everything else you can imagine)
  • Work on the complete development of a FinTech project related to data warehousing, collection, or payment gateway integration (possibly inventing a smart routing mechanism)
  • Spend considerable time with hands-on feature development, bug hunting, testing new technologies, and improving observability & reliability of solutions through data driven decisions


Needed:
  • Experience: 4+ years of Python programming, preferably writing full projects in Python
  • Skills/knowledge: OOP principles, SQL, Linux/UNIX, testing, git, CI/CD, and debugging
  • Personality: communicative, analytical, responsible, hungry, able and eager to learn, customer-oriented, patient yet proactive, gracious yet confident, independent yet cooperative, flexible, and interested in learning cool new technologies and how to take a new service from an idea to production, including software design and testing
  • Solid knowledge of English language
  • Nice to have: Flask, Falcon, FastAPI, Connexion, Celery, PostgreSQL, Redis, SQLAlchemy, GCP, AWS, K8s, Docker, Datadog, GitLab (including GitLab pipelines), Scraping skills, networking (protocols, authentication), and a University degree in IT

The job:
  • Work independently and be responsible for all activities related to implementing a new feature
  • Do architecture, design, implementation, customer feedback and bug fixing
  • Design from the user's perspective and discuss abstract concepts with fellow developers
  • Research activities, conference attendance, relationships with universities, publishing scientific articles, and a healthy work-life balance are heavily encouraged


Needed:
  • Experience is not important, only skills and knowledge are
  • Fluency in C++
  • A vivid interest in elegant algorithms
  • Intelligence, creativity, and a solid theoretical background
  • English, German is an advantage
  • Nice to have: a master's degree or doctorate in computer science
